Delete your account

You can delete your BlowWater account, and the data described below, from inside the app at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what goes and what stays.

How to delete your account

1. Open BlowWater and go to Settings.
2. Tap My Account.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Type your nickname to confirm, then tap Delete.

That is the whole process. Deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period, no approval step, and no way to undo it.

What is deleted

Immediately, and permanently:

• Your name and email address.
• Your password, and the link to your Google or Apple sign-in.
• Your profile picture, its thumbnail, and any other photos you uploaded — the image files themselves are removed from storage, not just unlinked.
• Your bio.
• Your last known location.
• Every signed-in session, and the notification registration for every device you used.
• Your chats. Each conversation disappears from the other person's list too, and cannot be reopened by either of you.
• Any outstanding likes, whether you sent them or received them.

What is kept, and why

Some things are not ours alone to erase, because they are also part of someone else's account. These stay:

• Messages you sent. A conversation belongs to both people, so your messages are not deleted from it. Nobody can open the chat afterwards — it is gone from both sides — but the messages themselves remain.
• A sentence someone saved from you. If another user bookmarked a word from one of your messages, that word keeps the sentence it came from, so their study list still works.
• Purchase records — what was bought and when. We need these for accounting and for refunds.
• Reports made by you or about you, so that a person cannot erase a safety record by deleting their account.
• An anonymous record of the account. It holds no name, no email address, no password and no picture — only your age, sex, region, language pair, username and the date you joined, so that the items above stay correctly linked.

Unused credits are lost. They have no cash value and are not refundable — see the Terms of Use.

How long the kept data is held

Indefinitely. There is no further deletion window and no scheduled purge: the items listed under “What is kept” remain for as long as the service runs. We would rather say that plainly than name a period we do not enforce.

If you want those items removed as well, email hello@blowwater.app and say so. Where the law where you live gives you a right to erasure, we will honour it.
